Poppy was the magic touch that elevated our ceremony from something that ticked the box, to something captivating, heartfelt, that we will treasure for a lifetime.

We wanted our wedding to be authentic, ‘us’ importantly fun for our 200 guests! We had a vision that our day would celebrate our love for each other AND the community who love our love. Our guests were standing; it had to be short! Yet in that short time, we wanted to make them laugh (and cry a little) and somehow put into words all of the love we felt for each other.

Poppy made it all feel easy. She first chatted to us and helped us articulate our vision, then she sent us some really helpful guides she has written. Every step of the way, she would help us choose what we wanted. “Do you want to co-write the ceremony and know what will be said, or would you like some surprises?” We chose the middle ground. She gave us some questions to answer as a couple, and some to answer on our own. On the day we knew the important stuff was in the ceremony, Poppy had shared with us, but also had that excited butterfly feeling at the altar and the joy of real-time reactions to hearing the heart-melting and hilarious things we had said about each other. 

It was honestly so special, I am tearing up as I write this. I am so grateful to Poppy for creating this moment and memory for our guests and us. It’s hard to put into words the magic we felt on the day. 

The awesome thing about having Poppy as our celebrant is that she doubled as the event planner we didn’t know we needed. It turns out there is a lot of logistics to get right for a windy beach ceremony with 200 people. Poppy saved the day, helping us adapt our plans to the tides, get a portable sound system that discreetly blended into the background but was loud enough for the element, and even magically sourced a beautiful wooden podium on the day that my fiancé and I had forgotten to arrange for signing papers.

It added such an element of calm and confidence seeing Poppy standing there waiting on the sand, as our wedding party processed down the beach to the ceremony. I knew everything was prepared. It felt like Poppy was on our team, holding it all together every step of the way, and somehow did the magic celebrant thing where she was also invisible at all the right times too, so I have beautiful photos of just hubby and I.

She knew where to stand, what to say, and what to bring for every scenario, a true professional!
